We give sanitary pad kits, provide relevant information, and build safe toilets for girls in rural Zimbabwe. Our program helps improve girls attendance in school, increase in confidence, and reduces child marriages.
A girl in Zimbabwe may miss up to 5 days of school every month because she doesn't have what she needs to manage her period. Girls often resort to using newspaper, corn husks, cotton, or rags to manage their menstruation. A lack of period products, inadequate or no toilet facilities, and limited health education are all barriers keeping girls at home.
What we do
The Restoration Hem Project works in partnership with schools, churches, community leaders, and other stakeholders to provide reusable sanitary pads, information and girl-friendly toilets for school going girls in Zimbabwe to manage their periods safely and in a healthy way. At every reusable pad kits distribution our goal is to create an environment where girls feel free to learn and share about menstrual hygiene management and acquiring resources to help them manage their periods in a healthy and safe way .
Each reusable pad kit is handmade by local individuals who are dedicated to quality and hearts full of love to make sure every girl in need receives our best work!
All this will not be possible without your support. It costs $25 to provide one girl with a reusable pad kit that is designed to last her up to 3 years!
Meeting her physical needs by providing local access to sustainable feminine hygiene solutions.
No more isolation, shame, or embarrassment. Her opportunities are limitless.
Empowering her through education and identity.
